Hi.

Welcome to my travel blog.

I may tell you a travel story, share a list of things to do, an itinerary, or something totally irrelevant to travel, but beneficial for life. Either way, have fun looking around. This is my hobby and travel is my passion, so I can get away with contradicting the marketing strategies of the week.

I hope you find the information you need for your upcoming adventures. Maybe you’ll discover a few other things that’ll keep you coming back. (I would like someone to read my posts.)

Always feel free to comment and let me know if you have questions or suggestions. Please follow the GnG guidelines for commenting, which are: Be nice, refrain from cursing, and giggle a little - it’s good for the soul.

Grazie.

  • We visited w/ 17 Home of Hope children and 12 Grace House Children.

  • At Sunday service a team member did a hula dance and gave her testimony.

  • Sunday evening we hopped in the pastor’s truck and went out of the town to a bible school for the youth. The team leader delivered a message.

  • Church at CDV Surco, main location morning and night service.

  • After lunch, We took a tour around the city on a double decker bus. Avoided going into the Catholic Churches and the catacombs. Went a block away to see school or club dance activity in the park. Jaime lets us know that they are singing to Mother Mary for blessings. So we leave to go back to join up with the rest of the tour people.

  • 3 planes of approx. 60 volunteers flew to the jungle (Junin area) on a Peru Army cargo plane. Went to the Pangoa plaza area where all things would take place for the next few days. Men helped to unload the supplies and the 2 CDV lunch wagons that all cooking would take place. Went to the girls home where 40 women slept in triple bunks, shared 5 showers, 4 toilets and 3 sinks.

  • We all have to leave at 5:30 am to go to the plaza. The men of Inspire Church, IC, went to the hospital to paint with CDV men.

  • Women of IC help to build wheelchairs 90 total. Stacy is getting great help from CDV Marcelo on taking photos.

  • We all have to leave at 5:00 am to go to the plaza. Men of IC go back to paint at the hospital

  • Women of IC help to cut bananas then help to build wheelchairs and help to give them away to recipients. Some of us went to a little boy's house, Jose. He told one of the CDV volunteers that his mom just had another baby and couldn't work. His dad was not at home. We bought some staples for his mom and took it to his shanty house. Turns out there are 7 children and mom in one open room. The 2nd oldest felt responsible to help mom, she is 17 yrs old. She wants to get schooling to get a good job to help the family. The oldest left the home. Mom and infant wasnt home, but they came to the plaza to see us the next day.

  • Went to Grace House for a tour of the girl’s home who get to stay and who have various issues they struggle with. They cannot reveal to each other what their struggles are until they graduate (9-12 mos). This becomes their testimony at graduation.

We did not know him and did not plan to stop at his house. We met Milagros (24 yr old daughter- disabled in a wheelchair, who is unable to speak) and Macedonia (father). His wife died 10 months ago, he is the worker and caretaker of the house and daughter. When he goes to work he has to leave her home alone. Suki prayed over her and the father, then Randy prayed for healing. The CDV team will be returning to see how they can help the family.

«  4/18

  • We visited a church attendee’s house. Her roof caved in and the addition to her house crumbled to the ground because of poor building. We helped pick up the rubble by carrying bricks from the house (on the side of a mountain) down to the pick-up location (I alone made 21 trips - there were 7 of us working).

  • Unloaded two truckloads of bricks.

  • When taking the first load of bricks to the drop off site, a lady (Dora) came out and was upset that the team was unloading bricks by her house. A CDV servant, Jaime, Daniel, and Randy started a conversation with her. It resulted in her salvation!

  • We prayed over Anna’s house and her.
