Welcome to my travel blog.

I may tell you a travel story, share a list of things to do, an itinerary, or something totally irrelevant to travel, but beneficial for life. Either way, have fun looking around. This is my hobby and travel is my passion, so I can get away with contradicting the marketing strategies of the week.

I hope you find the information you need for your upcoming adventures. Maybe you’ll discover a few other things that’ll keep you coming back. (I would like someone to read my posts.)

Always feel free to comment and let me know if you have questions or suggestions. Please follow the GnG guidelines for commenting, which are: Be nice, refrain from cursing, and giggle a little - it’s good for the soul.

Wedding in Hawaii

Wedding in Hawaii

Saying "I Do" in Hawaii

You came to the right place if you're looking to have a wedding. I had my wedding on Oahu. I searched far and wide looking for the right price and the right atmosphere. I found a lot of pretty, expensive places that was not for us. I did not want the typical beach wedding - Lord knows I wouldn't want to get my dress dirty. I saw pictures of the YWCA courtyard and it was perfect for us. Our Hawaii wedding (venue, food, photographer, DJ, pastor, and lights) cost us $2700 for 60 guests. We served Hors d’Oeuvres and had cocktails available for purchase. You can have a wedding in Hawaii on a budget!

You may say "YWCA - never!" Well have a look..... YWCA Honolulu

It got even better when our cousin gifted us 1 night at the Ihilani Marriott at Ko'Olina (now Four Seasons) in an oceanfront suite. I highly recommend this hotel. Why go anywhere else on your wedding night when you're already on one of the most amazing islands on Earth?

I realize you may not be the frugal, minimalist type. There are several other locations, other than the beach or the YWCA, to have a wedding. A few that caught my eye were the oceanfront chapels at Ko'Olina and Turtle Bay, Sunset Ranch on the North Shore, and Haiku Gardens behind Haleiwa Joe's in Kaneohe to name a few.

Be sure to cover all of the bases when planning your wedding, especially if you're flying family to Hawaii to witness your most precious life event.
